Britain from above

When I was in the Museum of Modern Art (New York) a few months ago I saw Design And The Elastic Mind. A really great exhibition. Anyway, one of the pieces that was shown there was a satellite image of the United States with a view of the planes that fly above it on a daily basis.

Well, something similar has been done to Britain. With the BBC documentary Britain From Above. Helped by technologies such as GPS a team of experts created stunning images like the one below (which shows airplanes that cruise the country).

For the non-British the content on the official site isn't available. Good for us that techblog Gizmodo put up some of the BBC's eyecandy. The images are really good; not to speak of the videos.

This is incredible. Slow-exposures taken to the max, satellite-imagery style.

Cheers for sharing :)
