Bicycle + Car + Park: PARKcycle!!!

It's a car!
It's a bicycle!
It's a... grassy field?

It's the PARKcycle!

Built by San Francisco based artist collective REBAR, the PARKcycle was a special creation for Parking Day, a yearly event that turns public spaces into parks.

And when Andrew and I were in SF, we found it treeless, parked and unoccupied.

And then we took it for a ride.

Such fun! Amazing to sit on the front of it and zoom down the street, using no power save for Andrew and Chris Ray's pedaling. The PARKcycle must weigh at least half a ton, but is so beautifully balanced that it moves like a floating carpet, and the boys barely broke a sweat.

Here's some video of the PARKcycle in action, on Parking Day.

Fun! Fun! Sustainably fun!

Hope this inspires you as much as it did us.

Here's the REBAR site.
The PARKcycle site.
And, the Parking Day site.

Love to All,

Team SuperForest.
