You Win! (Happy Monday)

(image via flickr)

Congratulations!

Yes, congratulations are in order.

Why?

Because you're a winner.

You and everyone around you, that is.

What do I mean? Listen here:

You, me, and everyone we know, have already overcome the biggest challenge one could ever face.
Everyone living on earth, everyone who ever lived, overcame the greatest hurdle imaginable.

I'm talking about birth.

We all began as sperm. You, reading this right now, began your existence as a tiny little wriggling entity. You and your brother and sister sperm came rushing out of dad, into mom, and there a epic struggle did ensue.

You didn't think it would be easy did you?

Nope, before you could be born, you had a race to run. Now, to put this race in context, you should know that the NY Marathon is usually run with over 35,000 athletes. 35,000! That's quite a few competitors.

In the race you ran (and won), you had between 40 million and 600 million competitors.

Just picture it, the minute, DNA packet that is you, struggling mightily, swimming upstream, overcoming myriad obstacles and defenses, and while you struggle hundreds of millions of nearly identical DNA packets are doing the same.

But it was you that won. It was you that overcame.

It was you reading this that bested over a hundred million others to become the top dog.

This brings us to our main point, which is:

Existence is the reward for our efforts.

It doesn't matter that you cannot consciously remember the battle you fought to be born. On a cellular level, you remember.

So congratulations! You've done it!

The Earth is your Eden. The Earth is Heaven.

The battle is over, the struggle is won.

Look with new eyes at the world around you. Let the fight, and effort dissolve away. Nothing you could encounter today could compare with the wildness and desperation of the struggle you've already overcome.

Take a deep breath, you've earned it.

Look at the people around you, every one of them went through the same thing. This is not a trivial matter. There are no losers as far as humans are concerned, all alive are winners. Everyone you meet is a champion of such a caliber as to put Achilles to shame.

The darkness of non-existence was the trap that ensnared the millions of variations of You, but you were clever and quick enough to break free. Existence is your reward! Revel in it.

Life is milk and honey.

Be excellent to your fellow winners.

Love to all,

SF

p.s. and Happy Monday!
